Annually published, La Revue is to the same time an artist document and a scientific reference object, focussing in each edition on a specific aspect of Tumuult’s northern studies. Gudd’s & Pons Braley’s research composes an aesthetic and academic invitation to engage with an ever shifting North.
Setting the basis for the collection to come, the very first issue to be released by the end of 2017, is a variation on Glen Gould’s “idea of North”. By drawing on their ongoing research on Fermont, Gudd & Pons Braley explore the interplay between mental and geographical Norths, calling for an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to the Arctics. While a further essay questions the “Subarctic as banlieue”, a duo’s portfolio takes the reader onto a journey through inner and outer northern landscapes.
